A NEW SHOPPING EXPERIENCE!

The Pro.Found Market is founded by 4 badass New England women who came together to create something amazing that helps local businesses showcase their inventory of unique and vintage items.

I was invited to join my friend Lauren to attend the Pro.Found Market last fall, and I didn’t even hesitate before I said OF COURSE! She stumbled across the Facebook page and knew that this would be a cool event to shop local and get some friend time in!

The Pro.Found Market hosted an outdoor pop-up event in Lancaster, MA at Kalon Farm & Winery. The location was perfect for the event. Lots of space to host all their many many vendors and for us to walk around and see everything in one centralized space.

The great thing about this market is that it brings together all these unique and local shops together. Kind of like bringing your Etsy shop to life. Some of these vendors may not have an actual retail shop, so it’s great to put a face to the name and be able to interact with your customers. The vendors have the opportunity to explain some of their craftsmanship and educate us on their passion for their businesses.

The number of products featured range from artwork to furniture, to plants to clothes, anything you can think of, they had it. Going through all the booths, I got some great laughs at some of the witty banter on the signs or t-shirts. Or I was awed by the stunning furniture pieces that are all unique and detailed.

Currently, the way people use decor is changing vastly. People are thinking outside of the box for non-traditional ways to display items. You can get so many great ideas by seeing how some of the vendors display their items in their booths, or even by talking to people who are attending. I remember we chatted with a woman about what she was going to do with a window frame. And she was going to display it on the outside of her front door with a wreath on it for the holidays, which is something I’ve never seen before. You can get a lot of great ideas just by talking to people just like you!

I also loved that they had food trucks! The only concern for me was that they didn’t have any vegetarian options. One of the trucks had a vegetarian item but didn’t have the ingredients to make it. No biggie I loaded up on some delicious fries, but hopefully next time I will get to enjoy some of the tasty food truck specials as well!

When I visited, I didn’t really have a need for anything major. I was trying to force myself to buy something, but in the end, I left with only one item. And I’m kicking myself! I can’t wait for the next event so I can make sure I go and find some unique pieces!

After visiting the Pro.Found Market, I developed a deeper love and appreciation for vintage local items. Personally, I like to redecorate my living spaces all the time. I have painted room walls a million different colors! I am always looking for new décor and new ways to display items!

I cannot wait to see whats new to explore at the June event!

I went to the Pro.Found Market with my extremely talented photographer friend Lauren Leahy Van Duyn. Here is a sample of some of her photos from the Pro.Found Market. As you can see they are beautifully shot and captures some of the many great vendors and items that were at the Fall event. Lauren has a keen eye for the details and can always find a way to capture the shot perfectly. She is great to work with and always smiling.

LOS ANGELES RESTAURANTS – A LOOK INTO MY TRIP THROUGH FOOD & DRINKS

Before my vacation to Los Angeles, I had a number of recommendations for places to eat and grab cocktails. The good thing about LA is that there are so many great choices for vegetarians. The northeast is getting better with vegetarian options. but the west coast has been effectively marketing a plant-based lifestyle for quite some time.

Take a look at where I ‘wined and dined’ during my stay in California.

Day 1:

CAVA | Culver City | LOVE

I spent the entire day at ‘the Price is Right’, I had whatever junk food I could get because I did not anticipate the taping to take 6 hours. I chugged a Redbull to stay awake and ate 2 cookies, because of course they ran out of the vegetarian meals. After I got back to my friend’s place, she took me out for dinner and cocktails. We walked through beautiful Culver city and stopped at Cava. Cava is like a Mediterranean version of ‘Chipotle’. And who doesn’t love Mediterranean food?!?! So yes I jumped at the chance to eat here. I got a grain bowl with; brown rice, crazy feta, falafels, pita chips, kalamata olives, more feta, tomato, onion and yogurt dill dressing. This grain bowl was absolutely delicious and so filling, I love all the flavors. There are so many options, you can create many different types of combinations and try something different every visit.

THE WALLACE | Culver City | LOVE

After dinner, we walked around Culver a bit more, explored the Culver hotel and grabbed a drink at The Wallace, which is most known for being locally sourced with a modern industrial feel. We sat at the bar for a drink. It wasn’t like the typical place where you can grab any cocktail you want. I typically do sangria, which they didn’t have. I asked the bartender if he could make me a drink with Vodka and he made me something fruity. And whatever the bartender was really good and filled with flavor. I didn’t know what to expect because the only vodka they had was a craft brand that I had never heard of, but it worked out! When I go back to LA I would love to try the food, because everything looked appetizing. I also loved the ambiance, with the industrial look and feel.

Day 2

AEIRLOOM BAKERY | Toluca Lake | ABSOLUTELY LOVE

The second day of my trip was Warner Bros Studio Tour day, I was so eager for this tour, for nothing else but the ‘Friends’ set. I started my day by taking a lyft to Toluca Lake and meeting up with a friend. We then drove to a cute breakfast/brunch spot close by. Aeirloom Bakery, which focuses on artisanal coffee, pastry & baked-goods stemming from organic & sustainable products. We were sat at a communal table, and had the pleasure of chatting with 2 local women similar in age to us, which was fun! I ordered the “Kalamata Cutie” (currently obsessed with Kalamata olives), which is organic eggs, organic basil pesto spread, valbreso feta, Kalamata olive, organic spinach, organic heirloom tomatoes, with roasted potatoes and thick toast. I cannot stress, how AH-MAZING this brunch meal was. I absolutely love it. My entire meal was so delicious I ate the whole thing. I would highly recommend to everyone looking for a cute ambiance with great food.

RIVERSIDE – RED DOOR | Toluca Lake | LOVE

After that, we were off to the WB Tour which was a few hours. They had a café called ‘central perk’ which was such a cool experience for me since I’m obsessed with Friends. Since I was hungry I grabbed a quick snack. It was enough to hold me over. After the tour, we drove to Riverside bar which is also known as Red Door. This place was really cool, on one side it was an outdoor and indoor restaurant and then you go through a “Red Door” and its like a secret room which a change of ambiance, that has giant tufted leather couches with a small bar. There wasn’t any spots open in Red Door, so we just grabbed a drink outside in Riverside. I would go back to this venue again for a drink.

CHIN CHIN | Brentwood | OKAY

After Riverside, I took a lyft to Brentwood to meet another friend for dinner. We ended up going to Chin Chin. She recently moved from Massachusetts to Brentwood and was still exploring new places to eat, so we decided to try Chin Chin. It was okay. We both didn’t order that much, so I think it was pretty basic. They do not serve alcohol, so that was a bummer as I usually grab a cocktail with dinner. The menu might be good but my meal was vegetarian and kind of plain.

Day 3

BLAZE PIZZA | Universal City | ABSOLUTELY LOVE

My third day was all about Universal Studios! I was so pumped and knew this would be a long day! Probably got there early afternoon and spent the day walking through the entire park and doing all the rides we can. After we were done with the park, we walked the city walk for food. And stopped by Blaze Pizza. I got the ‘Art Lover’ which has artichokes, mozzarella, ricotta, garlic and then I added Kalamata olives and pesto sauce. It was absolutely BOMB. I could eat this pizza all day, every day. Also, they had blood orange lemonade, I kept going back to get more. Overall this entire meal hit the spot. If you’re a pizza lover, I would 100% recommend.

VOODOO DOUGHNUT | Universal City | ABSOLUTELY LOVE

After a nice filling dinner, we wanted dessert. So we stopped by Voodoo Doughnuts. It’s a cash-only bakeshop that serves artistic donuts in colorful, quirky creations. This is a small shop but filled with so much flavor. They have any type of outrageous donuts that your heart desires. My friend who is hosting me loves donuts so I had to grab a few for them… and me! And the whole place is PINK… love!!! I ordered 3 cake donuts; chocolate coconut cake, triple chocolate penetration, and butterfingering. Who doesn’t love the names of these awesome donuts! Need I say more? A must!

Day 4

MIXOLOGY | Los Angeles | LOVE

On the fourth day of my trip I am finally able to sleep in and chill. I hung around a couple hours at the house and leisurely got ready. In the afternoon I took a lyft to the Grove to walk around and do some shopping. I needed a snack, so I decided to try Mixology because they have a rooftop area that was intriguing. Mixology is a sleek, contemporary restaurant and bar with mixed drinks & modern bites. I was just in time for happy hour, so I grabbed a sangria. I also ordered hummus and pita to snack on while I waited for my friend. Overall, the sangria was delicious and the hummus and pita was tasty. I would recommend for atmosphere, cocktail and food.

GRACIAS MADRE | West Hollywood | ABSOLUTELY LOVE

After that, we headed back to the house to get ready for dinner. We had reservations at Gracias Madre in West Hollywood. Gracias Madre is a meatless Mexican restaurant, all vegan & organic, equipped with a giant drink menu, in a chic space. Décor was gorgeous, the restaurant was primarily white and the furniture followed a rustic theme. Just an elegant space! I can’t remember exactly what was ordered, some of the items were tuna tartare, tacos, cauliflower. We even ordered dessert. The items were all exceptional and it was fun to try vegetarian versions of popular meat and seafood items. They have an outdoor area but it was closed for a private event while I was there. I would definitely recommend for atmosphere, cocktails and cuisine!

LISA VANDERPUMP | West Hollywood | OKAY

After dinner we walked over to SUR to grab a quick cocktail. I am a huge Bravo fan, and I love Lisa Vanderpump and Vanderpump Rules. I was ecstatic to see her restaurants in person. SUR was so over the top. Glass and flowers everywhere. Even the TV was glass with a projection of the show Vanderpump rules. I know from the shows that Lisa always spends thousands and thousands of dollars for fresh flowers for her restaurants. And that is the only thing I really loved about SUR. The aroma of flowers was so powerful. She has all kinds of flower arrangements, which also incorporated my favorite flower, the stargazer lily. I only went there to see the restaurant, so I am not sure about the actual menu. I would go back during the day time just to smell the flowers.

*we also walked by PUMP which is right around the corner, just so I could see it! 😊 – super fanning right now.

Day 5

MADESIMPLEPALEO | Culver City | ABSOLUTELY LOVE

My friends are awesome and Tom is an amazing cook. On Saturday he made us homemade breakfast – papusas with egg, peppers and salsa. I have no words, I ate the entire plate. And I could have had seconds and thirds.

SALT & STRAW | Venice | LOVE

After breakfast, we walked all over Abbott Kinney. One of the most amazing streets I have seen. Lots of vibrant colors and places to stop to shop or eat. Salt & Straw was recommended to me by a few people so I wanted to try it. Salt & Straw originated in Oregon and is known for inventive flavors & farm-sourced ingredients. Ice cream is legit my favorite thing in the world, so I am always up for it. I was in LA during Halloween, so they had a lot of funky Halloween themed flavors. There were many choices, I can’t even remember what I ordered but it looks like something strawberry flavored. I devoured it. I love the uniqueness of this ice cream parlor. I would love to go back and try more of the fun creative flavors!

BUTCHER’S DAUGHTER | Venice | LOVE

I have heard amazing things about Buther’s Daughter so I wanted to make sure I stopped at some point during my trip. While walking down Abbott Kinney, we stopped by to try their ‘elixir’ shots. It was my first… and probably my last time doing a healthy shot. Cant even remember which one we ordered but I was just happy I had a water bottle in my bag. Even though I didn’t eat anything here, I gave it a good rating based on popularity and next time I visit, Butcher’s Daughter is on my list to dine at!

OLIO COAL-FIRED PIZZERIA | Los Angeles | LOVE

After lots of exploring in Venice, we made our way to downtown to the Skyspace slide. After that we headed to Grand Central Market to grab a bite to eat. I opted for pizza again, why… well because… PIZZA. I ordered a three-cheese pie with garlic and you guessed it… Kalamata olives. Another delicious pizza place checked off my list!

McConnell’s Ice Cream | Los Angeles | LOVE

While still in Grand Central Market, I had to get ice cream! Ice cream, twice in one day… Yes Please! So we stopped by McConnells. I made my own ice cream sandwich. I don’t remember the flavors or the type of cookies, but it was so yummy. Ice cream is just always delicious and a good idea. So I recommend!

Day 6

MADESIMPLEPALEO | Culver City | ABSOLUTELY LOVE

Another homemade breakfast on Sunday by Tom! Avotoast, YES YES YES! I wanted so much more of that bread, it was sooo delicious. Another favorite for me! 😊

MADESIMPLEPALEO | Culver City | ABSOLUTELY LOVE

On Sunday, we spent the day exploring Malibu and Santa Monica. And then home to relax and another homemade dinner. Italian is literally my weakness. I had an amazing pasta dish with bucatini at a restaurant in Boston, and I was overjoyed when Tom told me he was going to make us pesto bucatini for dinner. Everything he makes is with fresh and simple ingredients. Nothing is overly complicated. And he made the pasta fresh as well. I loved this meal. I wish he would make meals just for me and deliver them to the east coast! 😊

Day 7

CORNER BAKERY & CAFE | Chino Hills | OKAY

My amazing friend, Alicia, took me all the way to Chino Hills to see my religious temple. She also stayed and did the prayer ceremony with me as well. After that we needed some sustenance before our drive back, we headed to Corner Bakery & Café and grabbed some sandwiches and cookies. It was a good place to park and grab a quick bite to eat.

And that rounds out all the places I visited for brunch, cocktails, dinner, and dessert! Overall I had a pretty great experience all around! All of the places I visited I really enjoyed and would definitely want to go back and try something different.

THE ULTIMATE LA BUCKET LIST

I am an east coast girl, born in the South, raised in New England… but I must say, I am lovin’ west coast Cali life.

I wanted to go visit my friend, Alicia, who moved to LA a few years ago, so I took off a week of work and headed to the west coast for an epic trip! I was able to catch up with a few friends in LA and was able to cross off a bunch of items off my bucket list. My days were jam-packed with lots of adventure and I loved every minute of it.

Everything about LA was amazing, the beaches, the weather, the food, the atmosphere. What’s not to love?!

Here is the ultimate bucket list for every traveler heading to sunny California.

THE ESSENTIAL TRAVEL BEAUTY PRODUCTS

My trip to L.A. is right around the corner and I am mentally starting to plan/pack. Every beauty enthusiast has their go-to items that they cannot leave behind and I am no different.

Since I’ve hit the BIG 3-0 this year, skincare has definitely been a primary focus of mine. I went through a phase a few years ago where my face was completely blemish-prone and was in the worst condition that it had ever been in. I consulted with my dermatologist who had me try many oral and topical treatments that I spent countless amounts of time and money buying various products and nothing seemed to be working.

Finally, I decided to make a change. I took the time to research the causes of breakouts and decided to invest in better quality products.

Through my research I learned about the many ingredients that help prevent oily skin and diffuse clogged pores. Now, I was on a mission to find products are made with these ingredients. After my research I netted out with some great items that have been fantastic in healing my skin, preventing future breakouts and lightening any blemish scars I may have.

I decided to take a step back and refine the needs for my skin. I am more prone to oily or combination skin, therefore, my future products needed to have those key components to combat those negative skin features.

| 1. CLEANSER | 2. FACIAL WIPES | 3. SUNSCREEN | 4. FACIAL MIST | 5. MOISTURIZER  | 6. DAILY PEEL |

FACIAL CLEANSER

I began with a new cleanser. I was using Cetaphil Derm Foaming Cleanser which was good in the meantime, however after a while, I felt like the foam didn’t always get the type of lather or leave the skin truly clean. I had used some items from this brand called Yes to Cucumbers, and after doing some research I found that have a line of products dedicated to fight acne, therefore I invested in Yes to Tomatoes Charcoal Cleanser. I also use my Olay ProX Anti Aging Cleansing tool with the facial cleanser to massage my skin and remove dead skin cells. The cleanser is a gel substance that brightens and cleans my face.  I like using these products because they contain 95% natural ingredients, are free of parabens and made with recyclable materials. They are easily found in Target, and who doesn’t love a good Target run. Another bonus is it comes in the travel size, and you can always refill and reuse with more when you run out!

$2.99 | 2oz

FACIAL WIPES

Another product in the Yes to Tomatoes line that I use on a daily basis is the Blemish Clearing Facial Wipes. I like using these cleansing cloths to remove makeup and harsh impurities from the day to day. It subtly rejuvenates my skin while removing any makeup or residue accumulated throughout the day. The cloth is a normal thickness but is very durable. Even though there aren’t any grooves I find its one of the only wipes that actually removes almost all of my makeup. And just like my cleanser, it leaves my skin feeling bright and clean. This is also available at Target.

$5.99 | 30 towelettes

SUNSCREEN

I wish I knew years ago that I should be applying sunscreen to my face every day. I honestly thought I only needed sunscreen for a beach day or a beach vacation. But after doing some more research and speaking to some of my esthetician friends, I realized that sunscreen is a vital part of any woman’s skincare routine. Sunscreen is a key component to great skin, it helps prevent wrinkles, age spots and all those fine lines as we age. Now that I’ve added it to my daily routine, I love how it helps keep my skin firm.

I have tried a few different types of facial sunscreens and I like CeraVe’s product the best. The consistency of the cream doesn’t leave you feeling sticky or dry. It absorbs into the skin with every rub and protects all day long. I usually use this first before I apply any moisturizer or product. And of course, it’s another Target item.

$11.99 | 2oz

MOISTURIZER

I have always used a moisturizer but I didn’t realize it was becoming more of an important need until recent months. I have been trying multiple moisturizers to see which one works best for my skin. Since I have acne prone skin, I was using Cetaphil derm face moisturizer with SPF, however, some of the ingredients from the SPF are questionable so I opted to find a more natural moisturizer and use SPF separately. Even though I like having my moisturizer and SPF in one I would rather use better products over convenience.

At this moment I am using Boscia Black Hydration Gel that I bought at Sephora. I like that its also a charcoal product, which I have been using a lot of lately. It has a lot of ingredients that help fight acne like Glycolic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Grapefruit Seed Extract (see the full list here).

I like the gel, it’s a cooling feeling which is nice because it will help calm down any irritations. It’s a very light and thin substance that absorbs well into the skin. And it definitely provides moisture all day, I usually use it twice a day morning and night.

Even though I like this moisturizer and I’m on my second bottle, I might try something different next time to see if I can find something that may work better.

FACIAL MIST

I have become obsessed with a facial mist that is a cult-favorite and a makeup artist must-have. The Mario Badescu facial mist is a spray that has many benefits. Its a refreshing, hydrating mist to use anywhere, anytime. It rejuvenates the skin due to the infused elements of herbal and botanical extracts (like Aloe Vera, Gardenia, Rosewater, Bladderwrack, and Thyme) that helps soothe and re-energize skin—giving it a healthy, radiant glow. It works well under and over makeup as well as on hair.

There are many ways to purchase this item; Amazon if you don’t need it right away, Urban Outfitters if you’re at the mall and can pick it up, or the Mario Badescu website of course.

The great benefit of buying the travel size bottle is that you can refill it anytime. So for short trips, you can toss this into your carryon bag or tote and have this on hand to give your skin a refreshing mist! I bought my travel size bottle at Nordstrom Rack for $5.

Also, the website offers free skin tips like this:

#MBSKINTIP: To give your makeup a dewy finish, spritz your favorite brush or sponge before blending in foundation or concealer. Once you’re done, mist your face as a final step to add radiance. For an extra refreshing and cooling boost, store the bottle in your refrigerator.

DAILY PEEL

A few years ago, when I barely shopped at Sephora, I went to grab my free birthday gift and the girl at the register asked me if I needed anything else, I said no but she grabbed me one packet of Dr. Dennis Gross daily peels to try. I went home and I tried this 2-step daily peel and I was hooked. It also has a lot of the blemish fighting and anti-aging ingredients that I have been focusing on for my other items as well, so this was a win-win. They come in individual 2-step packets, so it’s easy to grab a few and throw them into your makeup bag. Instantly you can feel the difference. I usually use these once a day at night before I go to bed after I have taken off my makeup and cleansed my face with the Yes to Tomatoes wipes. These little packets pack a good punch, you can feel the peel tingling as its absorbing into the skin. And once you’re done with both steps, I can see my skin looking re-energized.

$16 | 5 Peels

I wish I could be one of the minimalist in the world that doesn’t need many products for their skin to glow. I have come a long way with my skin, I have had ups and downs and now I think my skin is finally in a healthier place. I am trying to be more cognizant of what is in my products and look for more natural elements. Before I preferred to buy items for cost over quality, and now I’m choosing quality over cost. I would rather spend a bit more if it’s a product that is naturally derived and healthier for you.

These are some of the best products I use on a daily basis. And hopefully, these can help others who are struggling with finding some skincare products that work for them. Skincare is a process, not everything that works for me will work for you. So my advice would be… to be open, try things out and invest in more quality products. After all, it’s your face that is the first thing people see, you want that the be your best feature.

HELLO, FELLOW FOOTBALL LOVERS!

It’s that glorious time of the year, the New England weather starts to get a bit chillier, the leaves are changing colors, and football is right around the corner.

Just days away from the football opener and who is more excited than a Patriots fan?? We are all eager to see banner #5 raised this Thursday.

I decided to make a playlist dedicated to Patriots football and the legend, Tom Brady. To make this playlist I had a few ways to put it together.
• Having been to a few games you know the classics that are influential to a game to get the crowd pumped up. So of course, I included those.
• Then I also added songs that either talk about the Patriots journey or describe any instance during the season.
• After that I remembered a couple seasons ago the Patriots posted player music playlists, I found those and incorporated some of the songs that current players at that time would listen to get amped up for the game.

And with that, I have produced the Ultimate Patriots Pump Up Playlist.

Tune in Thursday at 8:30pm on NBC to see the Patriots take on the Chiefs.

If you’re on Spotify, please follow and play on repeat until the game starts on Thursday!

Bring on the 2017 Season. | We Will Miss You, Edelman! | #RaiseThatBanner #GOAT

That championship feeling.

“THE AVERAGE PERSON SPENDS 100 HOURS A YEAR COMMUNITING” Source

I found this stat online and it got me thinking about how many hours I spend commuting in a year? Even though my commute is never the same as highway 95 is so unpredictable, I based my calculations on 2 hours commuting per day (there and back). Based on this, I spend 520 hours a year commuting to and from work. I live in Massachusetts and my commute is roughly 30 miles each way. But the amount of traffic causes my commute to range anywhere from an hour all the way up to 3 hours, which is obnoxious.

How do you get through a commute like this every day while you’re driving? Well the radio is the first option. I normally don’t like to listen to a lot of morning radio shows, but after driving this commute for a year I had to expand other ways to pass the time. When you commute as much as I do you start stumbling onto daily radio segments that pretty soon becomes something to look forward to on your morning commute. There are 5 segments that I LOVE listening too in the morning and that start my day with some laughs and on a good note.

Show: Second Date Update
Day of the Week: Weekdays
Time: 7:10am, 8:10am & 9:10am
Station: Hot 96.9 Boston
Host: Ramiro, Melissa, Pebbles & Wiggy (The Get Up Crew)

The second date update is a segment that targets people participating in first dates. It’s when two people go on a first date (sometimes its second/third dates too), after the date is over one of the two is trying to get in touch with the second person for a second date, however they get no response to any calls, texts or messages. The person who is still reaching out is baffled that they aren’t getting a response, so they then call 96.9 to have the Get Up crew call the other person who is not responding to find out why they haven’t been reciprocating. While the Get Up crew calls this person to find out what happened, the person who originally called 96.9 is silently listening to the entire call. And once the air is clear of why the other person is dodging a second date, the original person speaks up and the two communicate on it.

Did you follow all of that? LOL.

Majority of the time, the person who initiated the call to 96.9 leaves out something they did to cause the other person to ignore them and it’s pretty hilarious. The stories range in all kinds of directions. Some people did something awful, like eat food out of the trash or some people have real issues like they recently became a widower and this was their first date and they were not ready for dating yet. More often or not they are very entertaining stories that bring a lot of amusement. This is the daily radio segment that I love forward to hearing the most and am upset if I miss it!

Show: War of the Roses
Day of the Week: Thursdays
Time: 8:20am
Station: Mix 104.1
Host: Karson & Kennedy

War of the Roses is a radio show for those trying to find out a secret from their significant other, mostly cheating situations. Basically one person informs 104.1 of their situation and who they what they want to find out could be cheating. Kennedy then calls the other person pretending to be from their wireless provider and offering them a dozen free long stem roses to be sent to anyone in the US free of charge. The original caller is waiting on the line silently listening to the entire conversation. Kennedy will then ask them who they would they like to send the flowers too and then proceeds to ask what they would like to put on the card with the roses. Once the person reveals the secret relationship Kennedy will try to find out more information from the recipient. Then usually the person listening to the call jumps in when they realize they are in fact cheating or seeing someone else.

Often times its people who are in fact hiding something from their significant other but there are some times that there is nothing going on and the original caller is embarrassed.

Show: Therapy with Judah
Day of the Week: Wednesday
Time: 7:40am & 8:40am
Station: Amp 103.3
Host: TJ

Therapy with Judah is a very adorable segment! TJ calls his nephew Judah who is 9 years old and asks for advice on a few topics. Judah listens, provides feedback and advice to TJ on things he should and shouldn’t do. TJ usually asks or says something extremely ridiculous and Judah will usually make TJ understand why its wrong or inappropriate. Its nice to see how intelligent he is and how he will offer the best advice possible to steer TJ in the right path.

No topics are off limits and he is very educated about everything and quite surprising at his age, his parents definitely are raising him right!

Show: Producer Matts Bar Stars
Day of the Week: Monday
Time: During the TJ Show
Station: Amp 103.3
Host: Producer Matt

Producer Matt hits the bars at closing time to talk to intoxicated people and turn them into Bar Stars. He will ask them questions or let them freely speak. It’s pretty hilarious because you never know what you’re going to get. They speak whatever they want and just are there for pure entertainment. This one is self-explanatory and does not need a full description because it’s simple and easy!

Show: TJ’s Ridiculous Report
Day of the Week: Daily
Time: 8:40am
Station: Amp 103.3
Host: TJ

TJ’s ridiculous report is a quick segment where TJ read ridiculous stories. Stories range for dumb things that people do that get them into trouble. He reads 3 stories a day and some can be local or from all of the world. Most recently he has had some funny pokemon go stories of people not paying attention and harming themselves. It’s a nice quick funny segment!

If you haven’t heard these yet, you need to start making them part of your morning commute!

ATR REVIEW:  3/5

City Table is a casual dining spot nestled into the Lenox hotel. I was looking for a new restaurant to try and while surfing through the OpenTable app I came across City Table. After viewing the menu and seeing multiple vegetarian options I made the reservation for a Friday night.

The atmosphere was very casual and laid back. The ambiance was nice. The décor was pleasing as well, all dark wood and low lighting. The wait staff was very polite and precise all throughout the night. Even though it’s a casual atmosphere, the service was very classy and professional.

We ordered a few appetizers and entrees as well as cocktails. Majority of all the items we received needed salt. I don’t have a heavy salt hand and never usually add additional salt to any meal so this was surprising that a lot of the items were under seasoned. The items I felt needed salt were the avocado toast appetizer, the spinach and mashed potato sides and the mac and cheese entree. We also ordered the s’mores dessert, it was not what we expected at all and we did not eat it. I am not sure how to describe it but you can see from the photo that it is not a typical version of a s’mores dessert and that did not convey from the description.

After dinner we grabbed a drink at the City Table lounge which is separate from the restaurant but can also be accessed through the Lenox hotel lobby. The atmosphere in the lounge was more lively and definitely a great spot for drinks! I totally recommend.

Overall my experience at City Table restaurant was okay. It was my first time and I might go again if there is an event or get together but I probably would find other places for dinner. It’s good for drinks if you just want to get some cocktails.

ATR REVIEW:  4.5/5

A friend of mine had her birthday dinner at Del Friscos Grille in Burlington. Burlington is getting a face lift and there are a lot more hot spots to substitute for going into the city. I feel a lot more groups find it easier to go to newer spots like 3rd Ave. in Burlington, Assembly Row in Somerville and Market Street in Lynnfield.

We had a table outside which was nice, but it also was a muggy night. In the beginning the service was on key but since we were waiting on some people, our server gave us more space even after they arrived so we had a hard time tracking her down.

For appetizers we shared nachos with guacamole and an artichoke appetizer. The only thing I don’t like when going to a restaurant and ordering artichokes is that they don’t tell me that the artichoke comes in the shell. Its hard to eat that way and honestly I don’t know the proper etiquette. A friend and I shared some sides and ordered our own entrée. I ordered a flatbread pizza while we split the mac n cheese and Brussel sprouts.

Overall all the food was delicious aside from the artichokes. The mac n cheese was by far the best! The Brussel sprouts has a little mishap as the description didn’t list that it came with bacon, and I don’t eat bacon so we had to have them remake it. They really should list out ingredients like that or the server should be responsible to us know that it comes with bacon.

Check out what I wore to this occasion here!

ATR REVIEW: 4.5/5

I went to Charles River Canoe & Kayak on July 4th with my best friend. She had been dying to go Kayaking and so we were on a mission. We went to another place but they were closed so we found our way to Kendall Square.

Overall the experience was awesome. Im a bit afraid of the water but this was easy and safe. They give everyone life vests and make sure you are wearing them properly. You have a variety of options to choose from for the type of water vessel but me and my friend chose single kayaks. The price per hour is pretty good. The only thing we could not do was go under the bridge because they had set up for fireworks later that day. We kayaked for about 2 hours. Overall the price for both of us and 2 waters was around $50.

They make you take a sign wavers and take a quiz in order to be able to use their services. You need to pass and they give you a guide to follow while taking the quiz which is helpful.

The reason I gave this a 4.5 is because there were a one aspect that was missing in order to get a full 5th star. I have kayaked in the past, years and years ago and I wish they had gone over some refreshers on how best to navigate the waters. The quiz is supposed to guide you with what to do and what not to do, but they didn’t go over how paddling works. I crashed into some things a few times and maybe this would have helped.

The only other real con that is extremely minor is that the life vest smelled like wet dog. I am a huge dog lover and everyone knows that about me, but I wasn’t keen on the wet dog smell while I was kayaking.

The location is amazing right at kendall square and there are lots of restaurants right next to it. I recommend for a nice summer/spring day event! And I cannot wait to go back again.
